Facial Trauma & Jaw Fracture Treatment
Facial injuries from road accidents, falls and sports need specialist care: the goals are restoring how the teeth bite together, the shape of the face, and function — not just fixing the broken bone.
Dr. Pathak manages the full range of maxillofacial trauma: fractures of the lower jaw (mandible), upper jaw, cheekbone (zygoma), eye socket (orbital floor) and nose, as well as facial lacerations requiring careful, aesthetic closure.
Many jaw fractures today are treated with miniplate fixation — small titanium plates placed through hidden incisions inside the mouth — which avoids wiring the jaws shut and lets patients return to normal function much faster.

Frequently asked questions
I've had a facial injury — what should I do first?
Go to the nearest emergency department to rule out head injury. Once stable, jaw and cheekbone fractures are best assessed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon within a few days — call the clinic and you will be seen urgently.
Will my jaws be wired shut?
Usually not. Most fractures are fixed internally with small titanium plates so you can open your mouth and eat soft food within days. Wiring is reserved for selected fracture patterns.
Will there be visible scars?
Most jaw and cheekbone fractures are approached through incisions inside the mouth or hidden in natural creases, so visible scarring is minimal.
